There are so many different mathematical symbols—where is the best place to find a list of their names for typesetting in LaTeX?

A very helpful site for identifying the LaTeX version of a mathematical symbol is Detexify. You can also look at this wiki for a list of some of the more common symbols and how to use them.

In the earlier question "how do I include typeset...?" There was a link to a basic list. http://meta.math.stackexchange.com/questions/5020/mathjax-basic-tutorial-and-quick-reference

That helped me a lot with my typeset in my last question.
