Question 23

Find values for p and so that the relative error is less than the absolute error. Make a general statement about conditions under which this will happen.

theoldernoah

Consider p̃ = 5 and p=4. We see that the absolute error is simply 1, while the relative error is \frac{1}{4}.
A general statement about this condition would be that when p>1, our relative error will be less than our absolute error, because \frac{p̃ -p}{p} < p̃-p when p >1.

Most excellent!
And thanks for the repost!!
