As calculus students, I assume you all have your favorite function. Enter yours here (using the forum’s typesetting tools) and include a graph of your function using the forum’s tools for doing so.

My favorite function is

f(x) = e^{-x^2}.

My graph looks like so:

chowell1

my favorite is x^3. I enjoy the simple curve.

cmoore14

My favorite function is f(x) = \vert x \vert. It is neat, symmetrical, and perfectly right angled, but at a weird angle.

mwilli21

My favorite function is:
y=3+x

ashley

My favorite function is y=x^3. I like its groovy line.

cmarsha4

My favorite function is lnx/x because it looks cool. In a more mathematical sense, it approaches both the positive x axis and negative y axis but never touches either (except to intersect the x axis at 1).

I have a couple of favorite functions that I happen to come across while messing with my calculator. This one is fun to zoom in and out with.

-\left|\frac{-\sin\left(x^{x}\right)}{2^{x}}\right|
rserra

My favorite function is f(x)=ln(x)

Its graph looks like this:

scaldwe4

I like this function just because I have never seen anything really like this in Pre Calculus and it doesn’t look like a normal parabola.

y= -2x^{100}+5x
bserra

My favorite function is

f(x)=\sqrt{x}
abjorkma

My favorite function is y=x, here is the graph:

mearing

My favorite function is r=.5+\cos (\Theta).

sbindas

My favorite function is

f(x) = 1/x

I like the symmetrical curves.

cmodlin2

My favorite function is

y=x+7

My favorite number is 7 and the line is straight.

lwilkie

My favorite function is f(x)=e^x

Its graph looks like this:

mabbott

My favorite function is

f(x)=0.5|x-3|+5.

There is nothing super special about it, but I really enjoy it. It looks like this

lfountai

My favorite function is
y= tan θ^2
This was cool after I found it while messing around and it looks something like this:

cbrowni1

My favorite function is

f(x) = \frac{1}{x^2}.

I like it a lot because it is a neat looking graph and I think it has always looked cool.

jcoumarb

My favorite function is tan^2 x, because the uniformity of it is nice
