I suppose I am a bit confused as to specifically how to move up in trust levels. I understand that more interaction with the site means a higher trust level. However I don't really understand the criteria and how to check my progress towards these higher levels.
Any light that can be shed (besides what may be read on this site already) is greatly appreciated.
Trust Levels
I think there was some sort of post a while back:
It seems that is just make good posts and get lots of likes on them. Also, read lots of topics. I don't know of any way to view progress other than see what my trust level and count received likes under profile.
I was wondering the same thing because I'm pretty sure I've met the trust level one requirements listed by mark at this point, but I'm still listed as basic user on my profile.
It says that trust level one requires reading of 5 topics with 15 posts. We only have one topic with 15 posts available thus far if I am not mistaken. I think I am starting to understand but I think we all need to go back and beef up our entries. I don't think we even had threads that were 15 posts long on Askbot.
Oh, I interpreted that as 5 topics with a total of 15 posts between them.
Trust level three: "...reading 25 topics with 50 posts..."
I'm going to hope that doesn't mean 25 topics with 50 posts each. I doubt that it is 50 posts each. We might need some clarification.
I asked Mark about this earlier this semester and I believe he said that @jradford is right: read a total of fifteen posts, that have been distributed across at least five topics. I am not sure about how to check my progress, however.
